You can follow the Umpqua River to the Pacific Ocean, you can stop to picnic on the river at Scottsburg Park, or visit Loon Lake or stop to see the elk along the highway at the Dean Creek Preserve. Reedsport offers the Oregon Dune National Recreational Area, the Discovery Center with its history of the river and the restored Umpqua Lighthouse. Nearby Salmon Harbor in Winchester Bay has ocean fishing.
